In looking over the new edition of Cruis'News, I see an El Camino Car Show sheduled for 30 May. Mt Morris is just north of Flint. Does anybody know anything about this show?

Here are the details:

The show is being put on by the "El Camino 2000 Club" (they are a local Flint, MI club).

Monday, May 30, 2005
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
11956 N Saginaw St (Town Plaza Parking Lot)
Mt. Morris, MI 48458
Here's a map. (http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&addtohistory=&formtype=address&searchtype=address&cat=&address=11956%20N%20Saginaw%20St&city=Mount%20Morris&state=MI&zipcode=48458%2d1531&searchtab=home)

Entry fee at the gate: $9 (proceeds fund the club's activites with the VA hospital)
Dash Plaques to the first 100
20 Trophies
1 Best of Show

Here's our chance to shine! This is an El Camino club that we have an opportunity to introduce ourselves to! C'mon Michigan members, let's plan on making a big showing here!

The show is open to all vehicles, but the "El Camino 2000 Club" will have it's own area, as will the "Tri-County El Camino Club". Let's make sure NECOA has its own area too! Anyone that is planning on going, please reply to this posting, so that we can get organized. It would be best if we all set up together, so we will need to arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 am. I have a NECOA sign and flyers to hand out.

I am going to make it down there, sans my Camino. I think I may pull the body back off the frame to repair some rust the P.O. didn't catch. I guess I should look for a daily driver elky in the interm. :( Mike

As it stands right now, I'm going to be there. Depends on the work sched, but looks good. Sorry I can't do Belleville but this meet will give me a chance to meet some of you and check out the other EC's. Mines not even close to 'show' being in 4 colors, mismatched fenders, ratty interior etc, but it will be nice to get it on the open road. Bob

So does that mean you are coming, but not showing? Let me know so that we can park as a group.

How about everyone else? Where are all my Mid-Michiganders?

Yup, I'll be there in the morning. The EC's not worthy of 'showing' yet, in fact I've even considered throwing a -Painted to look like a corvette- car cover over it so no one would shoot it and put the poor thing out of it's misery! Looking forward to meeting the members that show, and checking out some other El Caminos. It was a beautiful day, not a drop of rain. The El Camino 2000 Club were wonderful hosts, and I got to meet a lot of other El Camino owners at the show. Hopefully, many of them will join our ranks soon.

I also had a chance to meet a couple of our members too.

And oh, I almost forgot, yours truly took home a little hardware:

Two events and two trophies in one weekend. That sounds about right.
