Take a look at my installation of Acura CL leather Buckets . Drivers side is power, with adjustable Lumbar. Both are heated. . I also installed a console out of a 97 Blazer.
Definately not a project for the faint fo heart. Lots of fabricating on the brackets, not to mention figuring out the wiring diagrams. But the price was right ( EBAY), and I liked the color and the way they sit. Now just have to decide whether to keep them Grey or dye them Blue. They go really well witht he exterior color.

Nice...
I hope to one day put some Cadillac seats in mine...
Is it really a b*tch and a half to do?

Yea, the price was great ( $100 for the pair), but they are a little wider than the G body seats where the tracks mount. I had to grind off the factory slides from the Acura seats, and fab up brackets to allow me to fasten the G body slides to the seat ( Passenger side). Result is that the seats sit higher than I would like. Now I need to "shorten" the G body brackets to try and lower the seats a little. For the Power seat, it was sort of the same issue. The tracks for the Acura were wider than the G-body, so I had to grind off the original mounting positions and fab up new ones. Again, the seat came out higher than I would have liked, and I need to re-fab to lower.

Also had to track down a wiring diagram for all of the Power and heating lines runing to the seats, and fab up new connectors, once I had figured out how to get the power to run ( two seperate power lines with different fuses).

Just part of the process of putting in something that really wasn't meant to be, but I guess that's also part of the fun of it! If I had it to do over, I would probably look a little harder to find an F body seat- I think the overall installation would have been much simpler, and the resulting seating position would have been closer to standard.

Looks very nice. I am a little biased as an Acura owner because I know they are great seats. If you can get the position right they would seem hard to beat.

By the way, what color is your Elky?

Thanks, Greg

Thanks- yes , the Acura seats are very comfortable! A little more work, and they'll be fine.

The vehicle color is a 2003 Lexus "Ash Blue Mica". It is a medium dark grey, but has 1 Lb of blue Mica flakes in the paint, so when the sun hits it, you get a hint of blue. We liked the color when we saw it, but I got suprised by the cost- $400/gal wholesale. We had also considered a 2004 BMW "Steel Blue". We wanted something that was greyish, but would go with the blue interior.

thinking alike?

Cool. The biggest single thing I had against the BMW Steel Blue is that it's so common. Plus, I'm still a little PO'd at Germany and France. I'll check out the Lexus colors.

Speaking of Acura, they have a limited edition Meteor Blue/Silver available only on the new RL and TSX's. It is a silver/light blue mica and is stunning in person. Sounds a little similar to what you've done.

Keep us posted on your seats. I may end up begging you for your wiring schematic.

Take care.
