Hi guys,
I am looking at putting a B&M shifter in the floor of my '78 Elky. It has a column shift right now. I am wondering how hard it would be to convert and how big of an ordeal it will be. Thanks.

Of course you can switch over! Lots of pictures in the member galleries. I'm having one installed on Monday, I'll post pics shortly thereafter.

just put one in my 70 chevelle, only difference mine would have to yours is my car was originally a 4 speed car, I didn't want to cut the hump off of the floor so I just mounted it a little farther back, I also installed the bracket that bolts to the tranny behind the stock column shift bracket that way the nuetral safty switch, reverse lights and column lock will still work, as for installation just place the shifter where you want it drill the four mounting holes( cut back the carpet, if the drill bit catches it it will unravel) drill hole for the cable, mount shifter hok up cable, mount cable bracket to the tranny pan bolts mount shift linkage and your done, unless you want to wire neutral safty switch and reverse lights, then you have to get the wires off the column splice and run to the micro switch on your new shifter and your done jIM

I recently found an El Camino (5th Gen.) with a tilt wheel column and the intermittent wipers on the column also. I am trying to find out whether or not my 78' El Camino wipers (on the dash and non-intermittent) will plug right in or not and if they don't, what kind of wiring adjustments am I looking at? Thanks all.
