Hey Trey. I would read this wax residue removal post (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=10611). It has a few different ideas for removing wax residue that might help you remove whatever landed on your elky. I would also suggest that after you get the sticky stuff off, to reapply a good coat of wax or polish.

Best of luck and let us know which solution removed the sticky stuff.

Try Bug and Tar Remover (http://www.autogeek.net/megoclbugtar1.html)

I'd use a good dishwashing liquid. Undiluted rub on the area with your fingers until you feel the crap start to brake loose, then rince and repeat as necessary. Also Baby Oil, if you have a baby you can squeeze enough oil from :D (Kidding). I use Baby oil or Vasaline(sp) to remove sticky glue stuff from the painted surface. Rub with your fingers, just like with the dishwashing liquid, until you feel the stuff start to brake down. Possibly Go-Jo but the forst two should work fine. Then clean it up and re-polish the area.

Just my advice.

Peanut Butter... I'm not kidding either. Peanut Butter contains oils that dissolve things such as that. It is especially good at removing bubble gum from the paint.

WD-40 is also good but it will remove any wax you may have on the surface. WD-40 is especially good at removing road line paint from the car.

And yes, a properly waxed or polished car will be easier to clean off.

Most of the time I use the GOOP hand cleaner I have laying around. It cleans everything and it's not abasive!
