Have any members used dye to change the color of leather and vinyl seats? What product did you use? I also want to spruce up the plastic interior parts.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I used Dupli-Color's Vinyl and Fabric Dye. It was about $5 per can, and comes in a lot of colors. I was very happy with how it turned out, and it looks good too. There is little prep work involved, just cleaning the parts with some dish soap and water. Just to see how easily it came off, I scrubbed the door panel after the dye dried and it took a good deal to even get past the new color. It worked really nice on everything from the vinyl, to the carpet, and even plastic pieces. As soon as I can figure out how to post pictures, I'll put some up so you can see how it turned out.

Ya, what he said! I bought my SEM at O'reilly's. Strange only one store
in Tulsa carries SEM. You can also try auto paint supply stores
Hope this helps

Ok, so I remembered how to put pictures on my cardomain site so I can link them to here. The old interior was green, and you can kind of see that on the dash. The part the used to be chrome is now gray(chrome was flaked off). The carpet on the bottom was dyed as well. Hope this helps.

I used SEM Color Coat on just the vinyl parts of the seats & left the leatherpart original grey. The seats are 2002 Gran Prix, cost $200.Drivers seat is power with heat but I wont be needing the heat here in So.Fla. It was a real project because I had to narrow the tracks.I may dye the leather part blue later. The color is Bluemist and is a little lighter than the rest of the interior, but it is hard to match a color from those little chips in their book or from the monitor.I got the SEM from Sherwin Williams auto paint supply, the only place locally that had it. Only cost 7.50 a can.
I installed a new molded carpet & curtain from Stock Interiors .Com,and I'm not all that happy with it, did'nt seem to fit like it should and the heel pad is six inches to far to the rear. Ck the website below and members pictures. http://homepage.mac.com/papasetti/ElCamino/PhotoAlbum12.html

I just used the SEM products on my interior trim. Not satisfied at all. I used their recommended products (vinyl prep, adhesion promoter, cleaner) and their landau black top coat. I applied the product above 70 degrees as recommended but it comes off with just the lightest scrape. I probably would of been better off to use any plastic/vinyl spray. I have to remove the trim again, take finish off and re-do. Going to use Dupli-color this time. I had to round up new trim from ebay because the original had fabric glued to all of it. The were of various colors but still should of come out okay. I see where some of you have used SEM with no problems but with everything I do with this POS, I have to do twice to get it right....
