As the FNG, I thought I'd introduce myself. :D My name is Ray, and as you can probably tell from my screen name, I just bought a '70 Elky. This is the third Elky I've had over the years. I live in the Dallas, TX area and love old cars (have a couple others in the garage too). If you ever make it to any of the local cruises, I'll probably see you there!
My'70 looks pretty good, but Bubba got hold of it at some point and it needs a lot of TLC. So, I'll probably be seeking a lot of help along the way. Hopefully, I can provide some in return.
Welcome to ECC! Ahhhh...a 70SS, my favorite year! Show us some pix...

Thanks for the welcomes!
This is the only pic I have so far:

Also have a big block '71 Vette (that's me in the cap and my wife shivering in the cold):

and a '68 Mustang convert (sorry to use the "M" word, but it's my wife's toy) - it's also blue, but no pics at present.
Very Nice...What exactly did "Bubba" do that your having to correct?

Luckily nothing really big, just a lot of little stuff:
- The wiring's a bit of a mess - he just threw some speakers under the dash pad without attaching them to anything and shorted out the printed circuit. I also haven't figured out all of the A/C wiring (he removed the compressor and condensor and just cut the wires).
- None of the keys will work the door locks
- Only the lap belts are in the car - no buckles or shoulder belts. This is OK though, since I'm going to convert to full retractables.
- The bumpers, door panels, light housings, and other parts are not properly secured to the car. There are numerous bolts and brackets missing, while other bolts were not tightened.
- The inside and sideview mirrors are not correct for the car.
- There is no spare tire, jack, or jack handle.
- The horn doesn’t work. In fact, there is no horn.
- The fan shroud is not correct for the car and does not fit the radiator properly.
- The bottle, lid, and hoses for the windshield washer are missing.
- The rear storage compartment liner is missing and the panel covering the opening is not secured to the car.
I bought the car for a daily driver and it will serve well for that. I will not be trying to restore to factory original. I believe it is a real SS, but not the original engine/trans (it is a 396/402 and TH400, though). In addition to the seat belts, I will upgrade some other things for driver duties, but I won't do anything to permanently alter the car.

Nice car! Next time we get a Keller's run together (local club meets there sometimes) we'll let ya know. We're not much on car shows, but more on the gearhead side and we all have drivers.

Sounds great - I love Keller's! This car is definitely a driver - at least, it will be once I get the A/C going.
