I installed a 700r4 trans in my car and need a drive shaft to go from the long tail 700r4 to the stock rear end.

You should be able to find a local shop that can shorten it and rebalance it for you, or even take you old driveshaft and take the ends where the u joints go off and make you a new one. I know my dad had a new one made for his 69 nova when he did a tranny swap and it was only like 150 bucks.

If you're not looking to spend the bucks to have the Drive Shaft you have cut down you can measure the length and go to a junk yard to get one. It should be something like 3" shorter than stock.

Great, But what does it come out of? I know the 700r4 side is different then a stick 350.

You could try a Caprice (90 or newer) but really most junk yards have a pile of drive shafts. Just find one that fits the length you need and has a cap size that fits and its not bent or damaged.

Doesn't really matter what it came off of does it? That is how I got my last one. Look to see if it has had a balancer knocked off before you get it. Some don't have balancers, most of them don't have balancers from what I've seen. Get a new set of U Joints and your good to go! 8-)

It worked for me.
