I have a 1984 305 el camino and would like to get a nice sounding exhaust on it. I would like to know of any decently priced headers that are a easy install, no "modifing" required. And I was thinking a pair of side pipes would look really cool but I can't seem to find any. So if anybody can give some advice it would be greatly appriacted.

Errol, I can't recommend one set of headers over another for your year elky (I'm sure some of the other 4th or 5th gen owners can do that), but I have been checking into sidepipes for my 3rd gen. I'll probally do mine in the fall.
I have seen sets by DynoMax on the Jegs web site for about $270. I've also seen some on the J.C. Whitney site for less. Not sure about the quality though.
DynoMax's web site is http://www.dynomax.com/. Check out their diagram at http://www.dynomax.com/documents/pipes.pdf You will also have to have some special pipes to go from the header to the front of the sidepipe. DynoMax or Jegs sells them also.
Let us know what you do. I would have gone that route already, but funds are a little tight right now.
