: Region 2 RI All Chevy show June 26
a73elkyss 05-30-2005, 05:32 PM This was a great show last year and we had plenty of NECOA members attend. This show is an all Chevy show and has TWO El Camino classes. Please let me know if you will be attending.

87ElCamino 05-30-2005, 07:35 PM I'm going to try and make it, especially since it's in my own State. I've got my calendar marked. I want the spot under the trees!
a73elkyss 06-25-2005, 07:19 PM Late last call to all Region 2 members(or anybody else that wants to show up). Sunday the 26th is tomorrow.
This was a very good show last year. All Chevy's. Located in a park. Some shade, some sun. Last year the El Camino's were under tree's were it was nice and cool. Not sure where they will stick us this year. Weather is supposed to be hot, a little humid, and a chance for a late afternoon boomer.
If you need more info, shoot me an email as soon as possible at jlevitan@holycross.edu
87ElCamino 06-26-2005, 04:19 PM Congratulations to Jay (a73elkyss) and Allen (83NHElky). Jay took home the 1st place trophy in the Stock El Camino class and Allen took home the 2nd place trophy in the Modified El Camino class. All I got was a goody bag and a dash plaque.
It was great to see everybody again. See you at the next show!
LeoC2 06-26-2005, 05:46 PM Congratulations guys! Did anyone take pictures?
a73elkyss 06-26-2005, 06:48 PM Thanks guys. That was one hot and humid day at the car show. Must have been close to 90 with humidity around 70%. The El Camino classes were lucky in that some of them were under the shade tree's. Great spot Ernie and Allen.
It was good seeing Ernie, Allen, his wife Wendy, and John Heffernan (Lcamino) at the show. I'm sure we will see more of each other at other shows this year.
Congrats Allen, and I think Ernie's El Camino looks awesome after being restored. You should have won also.
Also did some good recruiting for ECC/NECOA. Passed out a few business cards and flyers.
Funny thing, I did see my old gold '72 (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?set_albumName=albun45&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php) there. As a matter of fact, he was in the same class as I was. It was really weird seeing someone else pull in with it. I sold it a year ago to this guy and now he is selling it himself to fund another toy. He is asking three times what I sold it to him for. Oh well, I love my '73 8)
After the show was over, I got a call from work to go in to check some computers in our data center. As it turned out, the main A/C went out and the data center temputure went way over 100 degree's. So, after spending the day outside in the heat, I went in to work inside in the heat. Major props to my wife, Dian, for being so understanding with all the heat inside and outside. I think I owe her a major steak dinner. 8-)
a73elkyss 06-26-2005, 06:49 PM I did get some pictures, but just got home and dropped the Elky in the garage to go to work. Just got home, and the camera is buried in there somewhere. I'll post as soon as possible.
87ElCamino 06-26-2005, 07:21 PM I only got to take eight pictures with my digital camera before the battery died. I created an album in the Members Cars section. Here is a link to it.

a73elkyss 06-28-2005, 12:35 PM Sorry to be so late, but I added some pictures to the album that Ernie started. Thanks Ernie.

mnunn 06-28-2005, 01:20 PM Jay and Allen and wives and others-
It was a pleasure meeting you and attending my 1st ever car show with you. This was my 1st time entering a vehicle in any car show. In reflection (excluding the heat and sweat factor), I thought it was a really good show, with lots of variety, attendance and support. Hats off to all those [sponsors and attendees] who made this event a success. I learned a lot and my Wife (Mary) and I are both looking forward to building more Elky associations with you all and attending more events.
Unfortunately, I'll have to pass on the next event in late July because my Mother-in-Law turns 80 that weekend and I'll be in the Florida heat and humidity instead of the New England heat and humidity.
I took a few photos of the show and will post them in the event folder as soon as possible (That is, as soon as I learn how to navigate and function on this web site).
mnunn 06-29-2005, 04:17 PM Jay, I've tried to follow instructions for uploading my pics of the show into the member gallery, but I can't see the same screen options as are shown in the uploading instructions.
I've filled out and submitted the "registration" form, but never got an email confirmation request. What am I doing wrong?
In the mean time, should I email you the jpegs?s
Thanks
Mike
a73elkyss 06-29-2005, 06:34 PM Hey Mike. Feel free to email me at jlevitan@holycross.edu any time with questions or anything else. Yes, feel free to email the pic's and I'll upload for you.
I'm sure we can work out getting you comfortable uploading pictures and once you do it once, you'll be doing it all the time. No problem.
a73elkyss 06-29-2005, 07:35 PM Mike, I sent you an email with a Word document that might help you upload pics. But basically...
Log into El Camino Central
From the main web page go to “Members Cars” using the link right under the “National El Camino Owners Association icon.
Scroll down until you see a category called “Car Shows” and click on the “Car Shows” button.
On the bottom of page five, you will see the album titled “2005 Rhode Island Chevy’s Owner Association Car Show”. Click on the album to enter it.
You will see a menu bar with a drop down arrow on the right hand side above the photos. It says “admin options”, but when you drop down, you can choose “add photos”. Select this.
From this “Add Photos” dialog box, click the browse button and browse to a location on your local hard drive that has the picture you want to upload. You can do up to five photos at a time.
After you have selected all the photos you want to upload, press the “Upload Now” button.
Let the system upload the pictures, it sometimes takes a few minutes. After it is done, there will be a dialog box that says something about adjusting the pictures and there is a button on the bottom to “Dismiss something (can’t remember the exact word)”, just press the dismiss button.
And your pictures will be in the album.
