I just got thru a major engine compartment detailing and everything looks great except the ceramic finish on the headers. Does anyone have any tips on how to bring back the original shine?

Evening Robin. I have not used this product on ceramic coated heaters, but it does an awesome job on chrome. Check out the English Custom Polish (http://www.englishcustompolishing.com/usca/nickelchrome.html) web site.

Not sure if this what your looking for?????

Thanks for the info, but im wondering about introducing any chemicals that when subjected to 1000+ degrees won't discolor the ceramic coating. Several years ago I bought a set of Sanderson ceramic coated headers for my '66 Vette. There was a small round inspection sticker on the headers that I thought would burn off so I didn't bother to remove it. Well 8 years later I still have a 1/2 round discoloring on the headers that I never could remove. I guess the adhesive permanently marked the coating.

You might want to try some of the non ebrasive cleaning products for ceramic bathroom tile such as "Soft Scrub".Usually it comes in a gel type form.Try it on a small unnoticable area first, perhaps underneath next to the collecters to test it's effectivness.

I have sent an email to English Custom Polish asking what product they would recommend for your headers. I'll post their answer as soon as I get it.

Just heard from Steve at English Custom Polish (http://www.englishcustompolishing.com/usca/index.html).

I asked: I have recommended your product to others. A question came up if your product would work on ceramic coated headers. Obviously the exhaust headers get incredibly hot, but wouldn't that be a perfect candidate for your Hot Chrome product?

Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

and Steve's answer is: Yes it will. Jay.
The chrome/gray finished ceramic coating really come up like chrome with the hot environment polish.
Lot's of local guys using it on exhausts and intakes that have been coated.
All best, Steve
