Please help! I have a 70 Elky that has a worn out rag joint. When I order replacements, they always come in too large (about 3" diameter). The existing one is a 2.5" diameter. I have tried Year One, Ground Up, etc. They all have the larger ones. The shifter (automatic) was converted from a column shift to a floor shift at some point. I have also tried a national parts search via a chevrolet dealer, they were able to locate several, but all too large! Thanks for any help someone may provide.

Is it possible to cut it down smaller to fit?
I am not sure but i am a machinst in the Houston area and would be willing to try it for you if you think it would be feasible.

2-Elkys,
Thanks for your reply. I would very much appreciate your help with cutting one down to fit. I have a 3" one that is in a kit with hardware should be workable. The existing one is riveted in & will need to be removed. The replacement needs to be ut down to size and the mounting holes drilled to match. How can I contact you?

Latest update - the center hole in the rag joint was too big, so had to locate and order another one. I'll let you know when it comes in. BTW - I did not get your PM.
Thanks
