Is the Mallory 6A as good as an MSD 6??

The application is a 350 street machine with mild to decent cam, 650 Holly, headers, Edlebrock preformer.

On paper the performance appears to be similar. You cannot dismiss the reliability of MSD; over the years I have used many MSD products and never had any problems. However on the last ignition performance upgrade that I made (on my '79 El Camino) I used a Mallory Hy-Fire IVA and have been very satisfied.

Been running the same Mallory Comp 9000 distributor for years. Added a 6AL box with RPM limiter a few years ago. The only time I had a problem was when I didn't have a ballast resistor in the circuit.

I really like the rev limiter!!! I'm running stock rods and bolts in my 454 and want to keep from stretching the rod bolts by accident.
