Hey,
Just got my new 350-330hp motor in, and my new th350 w/ 2000 stall converter. The only problem is that the car is lacking low end power. It comes alive around 2000, 2500 rpm. My dads friend said it might have to do with the dual pattern cam in it. My question is what is a good streetable cam, that produces good low-end power, and still pull through the rpm range??? I was looking at one of the new Voodoo cams w/ assymetrical lobes. Am I on the right track???

Also, it's my daily driver so I can't get a real radical cam, but I want something that'll beat all these kids at the track, with their hondas.

Thanks,
Rich

Throw some 1.6 ratio rockers on it, thats the most cheap engine hp you can get for under a hundred bucks. As for the Lunati cams you were talking about, I think that will make your low end issue worse, those are more high rpm hp cams. Retard your ignition timing a little and play with your vaccum advance some and with a higher ratio rocker giving you alittle more lift you may be happy with the results. Also, what gear are you running? That will play a roll in your equation also. just my .02

I'm running 3.73's. That is what surprised me with the dead low end. Is it a fairly easy job to replace the rockers( I'm 16 and trying to do all the work on it myself)???

You shouldn't have any complaints of low end power with your setup. I would check two things: do you have wide open throttle? and is the timing curve agressive enough?

I'm with Mrapii---with that engine and 3.73 you should have problems getting taken off because of tire spin not dead low end. I'd be looking elsewhere for the problem like carb or distributor. GM spends millions in research on putting these engines together, the internals should be pretty optimal---unless you have a cam with a lobe off it I would leave it there and find the real culprit...................Good luck, Dan
