or is there never any good third generation stuff for sale in the garage sales? Always seems like it's just 5th gen stuff.
Also I need a suggestion for a new intake manifold (square-bore) for my 350.

We 3rd gen owners are outnumbered 5:1 by the 5th genners here! I think we're even outnumbered by 4th genners! 8O

I'd suggest the Edelbrock RPM Airgap. Or if more performance than city driving is in order then the Edelbrock Victor series Intake Manifolds are very good. Since your not talking about a 5th gen then you have plenty of room for the extra height of the Air Gap intake. It's a good all around intake and helps with power and believe it or not economy.
if there are more 4th generation owners that would amaze me. 4th gens are not all that popular with most.

I don't like single plane mahifolds on street performance engines because the throttle response at smaller throttle settings can get real mushy. The Edelbrock series of intake manifolds was really designed for racing applications with a large plenum and big ports the vacumn signal is very weak. I have had great success with the Edelbrock Performer intakes.

I've got one of each. I tend to work on the '86 because parts are more readily available. The '72 has been languishing for about 4 years. I've got all kinds of parts for it and a new engine on the stand, but it's a "project". I just can't get myself to get into it. Tried to sell it, but everyone wants you to pay them to take it.

Such is the case with "projects" Ive got a 63 Biscayne 2 door sedan, loads of new parts and everyones like do you want to trade for a nissan or other assorted crap! You want to say get away from me and the projects end up sitting gathering dust. :-(

I've got some left over parts from doing my 72 I just can't see anyone wanting to pay to have some of the stuff shipped, I'm also looking for a SS or cowl hood for it but can't seem to find one local used, so I may have to buy a new one, Jim
