I posted this question in 2004 but haven't got it fixed yet... the issue is that when the car is driven for awhile like maybe 1/2 or an hour sometimes it will shutter when you are slowing down... this can be stopped but putting the car in neutral (but since my daughter will be driving it more I would rather fix it then have her do that) and it doesn't do it all the time... I was thinking either the torque converter isn't disengaging or if there is a module on the transmission that sends a signal to the transmission or torque converter.
any suggestions would be appreciated....

Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) is not disengaging. Probably a stuck TCC solenoid. I just explained this problem in another thread.
