I want a console are there any out there that fit pretty good in a 5th gen. I have an 84 currently 60/40 and I want buckets and a floor shifter.

If you can't find a 5th gen Elky donor, look for a mid 80's Monte Carlo or Buick GN. Either one will work for a donor...

If your pretty handy, you may be able to fit a few other type of consoles into your Elky, especially if you plan on installing bucket seats. However if your going for the stock appearence, Monte Carlos', Malibus', or other Elkys' will work with either buckets or bench seats. You can sometimes find them for sale on Ebay, as I'm sure from a few other sources if you can't find one in a local boneyard.

Here's a picture of what I did in my Elky (to date anyway). The center console is from a Monte Carlo. I changed the change tray in the front to the covered ash tray type. The shifter is from a 4th gen Camaro for the 4 speed 4L60E tranny that came with my LT1. The seats are from a 98 Trans Am.

Looks great, what did you have to do to get the buckets in there?

I lucked out on doing the seats. The guy that I bought the console from had the tunnel side brackets for buckets for the Monte that the console came from. I had the brackets welded in the correct location. The driver side bench bracket worked with the bucket bracket with no problem if I remember right. The passenger side rear bracket had to be 'adjusted' slightly to work. All in all relatively easy to do. But I do think I need to adjust the driver side seat a little bit. I don't know if its my imagination but I think it leans slightly towards the center of the Elky. Something to worry about when I'm doing the interior.
