I need to know how much a windshield and radiator will cost me for a 79 el co will cost. My tranny just went out on my Riviera, but the 455 is still running strong, and I want to know if it is cheaper to pick up my friends el co for a $1000 and put in a windshield and a radiator or if I should get my Th-400 tranny rebuilt. Thanks...

The Riv is a 76 and a plan to keep it but I'm thinking of getting an el co with a small block to help my wallet on gas ( 455+650cfm Holley= 6-8 mpg)

Man, they got better than that when new.

What have you done to it?

If you get the parts from a wrecking yard you can fix the elky for a couple of hundred bucks. You will want a pro to reinstall the windshield but you can get them pretty cheep from the u-pull-it
