im in high point and need my 86 inspected. itll be the first one and i was hopin someone had a local mechanic that would overlook stuff if needed. i just got it on the road after sitting for 2 years and it gets about 11mpg and the cat is hollowed out so im pretty sure it will fail emissions. i gave it a complete tune up yesterday and it was pretty bad so it may get better mileage now but i still assume the cat will fail it. thanks for any help you can give. i may be willing to drive a quite a while to get it passed.

well the good news and the main reason im posting this is i learned there will be no more emissions come january. im new to nc so i dont know how they do stuff here so i dont know specifics. i live in high point so i assume thats atleast guilford county.
as for my inspection. failed once with about double the allowed carbon monoxide and well within range for hydro carbons. put on a real cat and failed worse with over double the allowed carbon monoxide and a little bit more hydrocarbons but well within range. not sure what that cat does anymore since i did better with a hollowed out one but im sure all my emissions stuff will be out by the time january is here so its all good.
