One of the reasons I love my car is that the Conquista package came with all the chrome and stainless trim but now the trim is startin to show it's age. My chrome and stainless is very presentable but it's starting to dull a little bit and get these light grey marks in the trim around the roof and rear window, like finish is marred. They rub off but after a week or two they come back. It's like a film or something. I've beeen using Harley-Davidson Chrome Cleaner on what chrome I have on the Vette and it really works, but are there other stuff out there that can really make my bumpers and trim look good? Also what can I use on the stainless to really bring out the shine? What do you guys use? Thanks for any help

The window moldings and side trim are anodized aluminum and once it ages will begin to appear cloudy or grey. The only way to return the finish is to strip the anodized finish, have the moldings polished and re-anodized. It's not as difficult or expensive as it may sound, metal polishing supply companies like Caswell sell the products you'll need. Myself I prefer to remove the anodized coating and polish the moldings and not re-anodize them. It requires periodic repolishing but they will shine like polished stainless steel.

Stainless and aluminum trim can be revitalized by polishing. Chrome is another matter as the dulling is usually the result of very fine scratches which reduces the reflectivity. Polishing is not usually an option; replating is the only cure.
