I'm converting my dash into a full aluminum dash , does anyone have any info on how to do this and maybe pics? I have seen a few , but not sure on how they did this or who did this for them , I'm a little nervous about my body guy doing this for me , and I want it to look great, please help!

You need to take it to a rod or custom shop where they do fabrication all the time. Beware, it won't be cheap. I had the guages re-done in mine and had them mounted in a custom aluminum face panel - over $2,000.00CDN. Guages alone were $1700.00.

The other alternative is to do it yourself if you feel you have the ability - I didn't.

If the 68 Chevelle dash will fit, take a look at what Covan's offers:

Complete dashes w/Autometer gauges for $849.00.

That Covan dash looks great but I think rawkstarr is looking for something else. Find a shop that has experience with automotive aluminum fabrication and they should know exactly what you need. Even an experienced bodyman without particular experience in aluminum fabrication would concern me.

Yeah, I figured he wanted a custom sheet metal dash, but sometimes you have to look at all your options.

hey guys , yeah I looked at the covan , it is nice , but to me its just a different color than the original , and yes I am looking to do a kick ass drag racing style dash , full aluminum , I've posted a link to a guys site , give it a second and let it load , if you go a bit more than half way down you'll see a black 68 or 69 elky that it tubbed and has a dash that's pretty much the direction I'm trying to go , my elky will look very similar to this one , she is in the middle of being tubbed and four linked with coil overs and a ten point roll cage , check out the rides they are pretty sweet and the guys took a lot of pride in their work I've written em a few times and cant seem to get them to respond back but hey its cool the pics were enough to give food for thought! http://hobbystage.net/camaro/camaroracer/ OR TRY THIS! http://hobbystage.net/camaro/media.cgi?site=camaroracer&folder=*&group=4&page=*&id=1093318429-004242
