The fuel gauge in my 74 only works sometimes. What's the mostly likely cause of this? Bad sensor? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm still new to learning about cars. thanks.

No honestly asked question is dumb. Are there any distinct conditions when it doesn't work (when full, when empty; drinving on bumpy road, etc.?). When it doesn'r work does it read FULL, EMPTY or something other?

Well I don't rightly know. I just got the car yesterday and the guy I bought it from told me that, so I jus made a quick post before I scattered off to work. I'll get more info when I can. Although, I probly won't be driving this car for another 2 weeks. Gotta wait till I get paid again till I can tag the car and drive it legally. Any ideas or tips until then are welcome!
