For those of you who don't have an RPO tag or a build sheet, but desire a copy of the original GM Dealer Invoice showing all of the options (RPO's) that your El Camino originally had when it left the factory, it is now available through Allied Vaughn. This service used to be free through the GM Media Archive and many of us here at ECC took advantage of it. But, since it is now being managed by an outside supplier to GM there is a $50 fee. This can be paid by credit card, check, or money order. Click on the link below, follow the instructions on the form, and within 2-3 weeks you should have a copy of the invoice.
Invoices are available for vehicles* in the following model years:
Chevrolet since 1977
Pontiac since1987
Cadillac since 1980
Oldsmobile since 1977
GMC since 1976
*Fleet & exported vehicles excluded
Thanks to Ralph Richason (texas86) for doing the research and providing the form.

I checked this out thru Allied Vaughn. This service is unavailable for Mexico built Elcos. This would include all El Caminos 1985-1987.

I was able to get mine for a 86 El Camino that was built at the Assembly Plant Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. I did get mine when it was free though I don't know why the group handling it now can not seem to get it.

Hmmm. Strange. Supposedly the company that did it when it was free is the same that is charging now. I certainly would like a copy of my invoice, since i can't find a build sheet for my Elky.

I just got mine for my 79, but they could not give me one for my 85 which was made in Mexico. They told me they no longer have any records for any vehichles with a VIN beginning with 3 (made at the Mexico plant). Best bet for Mexican made is find a dealer with a year specific shop manual, where you might be able to pull out all the codes.

Is it possible to get a copy of a build sheet for a 1970 El Camino? Allied Vaughn seems to only offer sheets for newer El Camino's.

Not here in Canada Gonad
i tried to get the free info pack from these sites and even though mine was built in Leeds, and sold in Houston I had to go thru GM Canada and it cost me $150.
That didn't include orig invoice . I have since found all the same info and more on a GM heritage site in PDF free downloads.
