I am going to drop a rebuilt 350 into my 79 El Camino. The old 305 still has the original quad jet. Does anyone know what aftermarket intake and adaptor will fit? I was looking at the Edelbrock and it looks too tall. I really dont want to replace the hood or change the carb at this time.

Grab an air cleaner housing off a carb'd or TBI 3rd gen F-body. They are a lower profile unit that'll clear the hood.

an edelbrock performer intake, performer carb, carbspacer, and a crome summit air cleaner fit just fine under my hood. '78 elcamino 400sbc....
