I have seen soem elkys with painted grills and bumpers and think they look pretty good. I am wondering what type of prep work is involved and what typed of paint to use on both surfaces.

We painted a 1970 Elky's bumpers and we just preped them like any other piece of metal. Clean it really well, sand it, prime it/seal it and paint. Chrome is not meant to be painted but it works out alright.
