my headers have rust on them. are they fine like that, should i take them of and sand them and coat them or something, or do i need new ones?

A lot of work just to take them off to paint them.
Try masking off what you can and just clean/paint what can be seen. Get a good high temperature paint. It will eventually burn off again though.
You might want to consider getting them coated at some point. The rust doesn't look that bad.
If you're energetic, take them off and have them sand/media blasted before you paint them.

That's not the first set of coated Dynomax headers I've seen do that. When money and time permits, I would remove them and send them to a reputable coater (Jet Hot or HTC, etc.)
I bought coated Hooker headers, and, from what I've seen at car shows, I expect them to do the same thing.

thanks. i got an estimate from jet-hot. its almost 300 bux! it seems like its worth it though. how do you take the headers off? do they just come off from those bolts or is it not that easy?

If you want some new ceramic headers, you might want to look at these. The price looks good.
I have bought from this company before.

I bought Ceramic coated headers from Flowmaster.
Mine are rusting as well.
