To answer your question in a word yes. You can have someone do it or you can do it yourself. the only modification you'll have to do is cut the panel that covers the radio and a/c controls to fit the radio you want and match the wires (left speaker, right speafer,etc.). There are install kits for our cars and onlly cost $10-20, or companies like Crutchfield give you the install kit if you spend 150 (I think) or more.

wow!, i would never spend that much money for a kit. what i did to make my radio fit was a lot cheaper. i took a piece of 1/4 inch oak plywood and cut it on a band saw to fit in place of the plastic face that was there before. then cut out a rectangle for my new radio to fit in and a rectangle for the air controls. to mount the radio to the plywood i had to glue a sqaure piece of wood to the back of the ply wood above and below the radio for it to skrew into. to mount the plywood to the dash i skrewd it to the old radio mounts, not what the old face was skrewd to. i had to use about 3/4 inch spacers between the plywood and the dash so it would fit right. i stained the oak plywood before installing it and it looks very nice! i don't know if you have the saws to cut it but a little jig saw will def. do the job.
oh yea, it will be a lot easier to cut the plywood to the right deminsions if you just trace the old platic face.

This is what I made for my '86. It works with the '86-88 style radio bezel but you may be able to modify it for your application.

Thanks :). It's made from a piece of multi ply birch with black Formica glued to it and the brackets are 1/8" aluminum angle. The headunit bolts to it using the "iso-mount" holes on the side. There's a picture HERE (http://elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?set_albumName=MrMarv86SS&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php)
showing it installed.
