how can u tell the difference in a regular el camino and an SS el camino, because i have a 1978 El Camino and i have sum suspensions about it, i think it might be an SS but i dont know can any one help me, every comment it helpfull thanks all

Other than the SS decals, I think you'll have to check the cowl tag (Z15?) to be sure.

A metal tag with codes on the left side of the cowl (where the wiper arms are).

also if it is an ss it will have bucket seats and a center console and ss on the dash a factory 305 v8 engine and the ss stickers on the outside and the cowl tag is on the driver side under the hood look at your wind shield wiper then look down alittle and you will see it it will have all kinds of numbers and letters

The Z15 code is the sure way--the rest of the SS stuff may or may not be there. In any case don't get too excited because an SS designation didn't mean that much on a 5th Gen.
