Wondering if there are any members in East Texas, (Tyler area), who could steer me to some sources for used parts. I'm fairly new to this part of the state and I can't seem to find be any good wrecking yards around here. Been lookin' behind barns and under trees but no luck so far. I'm in Athens Texas, about 35 miles southwest of Tyler. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Matt - had just about given up on you. Glad to hear you're still active.
I'm new to ECC and only a year and a half old to the town of Athens. I live out at Lake Athens and drive a 2-tone blue 86 Conquista. Word has it there is a twin to mine somewhere in town, but I've never seen it. Is it you?

Tell me about your Elky. Year, color, motor etc. Sorry to hear you haven't found any sources for parts either. Was really hoping to starting scouring the county for some parts cars - there may just not be any around. I know where there are a couple of them but the owners won't part with anything off of them.

Hope to take mine to Athens Cruisers this Thursday at Kens Pizza on South Palestine - if it's not in the shop. Probably won't "show it". I'm not ready for that yet. You should come too.

sorry for such a delayed response......i actually prob live close to u....im on 2495 in a subdivision b4 u get to the lake.....actually i can see the overpass from my back yard..do u live ON the lake, like a lake lot??? ...my elky is all blue 81 conquista tired ol stock v6, its gotta pretty nice paint job but its nothing show quality in my opinion..theres pix in the gallery around page 18 i think.....im 18 and used it as a daily driver to school so i didnt want my paint to be nething too expensive....now i have a different car so i can start to do more to the elky but i have no money :P havent made it to a cruisers yet..... what about ur elky??

i hear tell that theres a place in tatum that has several elkys i havent made it by there to check it out yet though. Adams i think was the place.

i need to though because i need to find some front marker lenses! very badly =[

There are also about 8- 10 Elkys in and around our little town of Athens. Really surprising. Every now and then I spot another on on the road.

If you go to Tatum let me know what you find. I have an 86 and my neighbor has an 85 Cabellro.

i know what you mean ..it took me like a year to find a parts car! there are a couple of elkys here in henderson ive seen one was this dr. that goes to my church but he was driving and swerved to miss a lady that was basically driving on the wrong side of the road and he hit a tree and totaled it :( ..i was working in lakeport the other day and talked to a guy that was driving a 85 cabellero it was in pretty good condition to but the engine didnt sound to great lol. i finally found some marker lenses from a member of this site i was ecstatic to have found them and for $25 you cant beat that! cant wait to get them in the mail. tomorrow im taking mine in to get the tranny rebuilt then getting it painted :D ill post pics when its finished!

but yea ill go check out adams and see what i can find ..maybe take some pics too, ill send them to you if i do.

I'm in Mt. Pleasant. Working on a 76 Sprint(long ways to go). Anyway, I know a yard close to here that has lots of parts. He has at least 6 units, but, of course, all the dash covers and seat covers are in bad shape. PM me if you need a number.

By the way, all those 6 cars were Gen IV. I know he has at one Gen V and one Gen II.
