Hey guys i just bought a tonneau cover for my 81 el camino, it came with instructions but they really suck. Im not sure how to put it on around the back window, it came with these slide type things that you screw into the car and then slide the cover through the top, but those dont fit the curve around the window perfectly so i was wondering if i would have to bend those to fit around the curve
If anyone has some pictures of how they put theirs on i would really like to see them. thanks!!

Hey there...
PLEASE>>>> make me a copy of those instructions, as useless as they may be, it sounds like you have the same cover I got, mine was new in a box with no instructions.
There were some responses to my previous post about installing it but between moving and other projects I haven't managed to put mine on yet either.
Mine has snaps down the side, and the front end slides into a piece of metal that looks like it would then be permanently attached to the body under the window. thus when wanting to take the cover off, it would appear it couldn't be removed completely. I'd like to modify it so that it just snapped in up front somewhere which is why i haven't installed mine yet.
Check for posts by me, and you should find my other thread about the cover, it may give you some clues as to what you need to do.
Thanks

I got mine from another member on here, who had it sitting in the box in the garage for a while.
It was sold by choo choo automotive back in 2000 for $300 got it for 80
it's part number is TO-686 or TO-680
and is listed as a tarpon tonneau cover
Here is the original thread I posted about its installation
