Just wanted to introduce myself as a new member and point out my location. I'm Bullets, I'm currently restoring a 68' and I live in the Greenville, SC area. This is a first for me so I'm sure I'll be screaming online for some help along the way. My Elky is pretty much original with only one real minor draw back, someone put a sun roof in it (yeah, I know, OUCH!) there is typical rust and I'm missing a passenger seat. The good news is I'm a chick that can weld and I'm in no hurry. Ive pretty much been assessing what I have at this point. I bought it a little over a year ago with no history. I got the "free restoration kit" from Chevy, and I'll tell ya, every owner should aquire this. It pretty much gives you the spects on all the models made for your'e year, including options available. That really helped me in identifying why I had so much more. The spects are fantasic, it covers all components in all systems. I've done some degreasing, removing, cutting grinding and sanding at this point as well. I came to the conclusion that a ground up is all I will accept for my baby, so now I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row before I do something stupid. Anyone wanting to say hello, please do, and I wouldn't mind hooking up with someone local with experience in these matters. All correspondence is welcome. Thanks, Bullets
