Im fixing some rust and need a picture of what this area is supposed to look like. I basically rebuilt the entire area from what i remember and looking at the other side, but there is one part that is gone on both sides.

Thats a picture of the driver side lower 1/4 window housing. On the rear corner you can see a hole that just looks like a section of the window "ledge" has been cut off. Hope you can tell what im talking about because its hard for me to explain.

I am in the middle of repairing the same rust on my 1980. The semi-triangular gap at the rear of the quarter window is supposed to be there. The gap is filled by a second layer of steel underneath. This leaves a slight depression the thickness of the upper sheet metal in the triangluar gap area. The repalcement weatherstripping will cover it up so that you do not see it. When I took mine appart, the factory had filled the gap deppression with black urethane window sealer.

I have replaced the passenger side full quarter panel and it included the quarter window area and it still had the semi-triangular gap. Since the steel underneath had rusted, we fabricated and welded in a new piece to fit in behind the quarter window.

I have left my digital camera at work so I cannot send a picture at this time.

I was thinking that was the case. I think it was attached to the large piece i pulled out that was ate up with rust. I made a new piece but i gotta make anouther to fill up that small hole. Thanx man
