I'm getting ready to put my small block back in my elky and i need to find the top dead center to reinstall my distributor. whats the easiest way to do this? I just removed my intake last night and powder coated it and was wondering since i have it off if it would make it any easier to tell by watching the lifters? Any tip would be appreciated. Thanks

Camino 81, I remove #1 plug & stuff a wad of tissue paper into the plug hole. I then turn the engine over with a breaker bar on the crank pulley till the tissue paper pops out of the hole. It is very close to tdc on the compression stroke. It works for me. Jon
