I am looking for a part for a 68 El Camino and am not sure what its actual name might be. However, it is the support peice that is located directly under the center of the bed access floor panel. The storage box located behind the drivers seat goes through this support. Any help (1) on the name of this peice and (2) name, address, etc. of anyone who may have one for sale would be greatly appreciated.

yea its called wheir ya put ya feet if it wer a station wagon .have fun findin one . might be easyer than findin an el camino . or take some measurements and have it fabricated in a metal shop cause they dont make them thangs.

I would call it a "bed panel support brace"....JOHNSUBR may be dead right on this one...I've seen plenty of aftermarket stuff for a '68 (3rd gen) elky, but have never run across any of these braces. You might check with National Parts Depot or Year One (they have on-line catalogs...I don't have links handy so you'll have to google 'em)...my only other guess is a salvage yard. We have a vintage chevy salvage here in Denver...it's called American Graffiti...I don't have thier phone # handy (sorry)...you might look it up (google...they have a website) and try them if all else fails...They would most likely have one and ship it to you.
