I've got a 3rd gen. w/454. I've got a set of Headman Headers, unpainted. Since I can't figure-out how to heat'm up to 200' before painting, I thought I'd try wrapping them. Can anyone suggest a product they've used and liked? Or if anyone has an answer to getting them hot enough to paint correctly, that would be great. Thanks in advance!

This may be a stupid answer but hey... will they fit in the oven?

In Popular Hot Rodding they painted headers with hi temp paint then installed them on the car and then started the car and let it idle for 30 min. They said not to rev the engine when you run it the first time or else the pipes will get to hot. But that way worked well for them supposidly. That's the plan for my headers as well.

Hey Leo, Thanks for the reply! I tried the oven. Not big enough. My wife was scratching her head, but hey, sometimes you got to do what you go to do. I'm leaning towards the wrap, but I've never done it, so, if anyone has, and can recomend a product, I'd apreciate it. Thanks!

The wrap takes a lot of patience and time. Practice helps too.
