I got an 83 Camino with a fresh ZZ4 350 and a rebuilt TH350c with a shift kit and a 2500 stall. Here is my problem. It only shifts once and I think it's shifting from 1st to 3rd and skipping over 2nd. But when I'm doing 55 and put it down, then it hit's 2nd then 3rd. When I try to shift manualy, it goes in 1st but when I shift to second there is no shift, no change at all. The fluid is right and all vacuum lines are correct. Someone throw be a bone here. Thanks

I have the exact same issue after installing a B&M Transpak in my 81 w/ TH350C. Anyone know where to look????

I pulled the valvebody back apart and verified everything was like it was supposed to be and it still does the same things.

8) I'm not a transmission guru but if the 350c has a kickdown cable same as a regular TH350 it's out of adjustment. If it don't have one ignore this post! :)

It has a TV cable and while I had it apart I checked to make sure it was fully activating the valve when the throttle was wide open......

The problem that I had was the 2nd gear band wasn't hooked up. The guy that rebuilt it wasn't very good. Also it ended up being a 250C not a 350.

Does anyone know how much initial movement the lever that actuates the throttle valve in the transmission is supposed to have? If you haven't been into one it is hard to explain but the "rod" that comes from the TV cable down through the transmission to the front of the valve body is connected to a "lever" that moves the throttle valve.

If that rod were bent could it allow the throttle valve to remain partially open all the time therefore making the transmission think you were always under acceleration? I checked to make sure that under WOT it was opening the valve all the way but did not check to make sure it was closing all the way at idle.

I hope to change the vacuum modulator tomorrow to rule that out before dropping the pan again....
