a73elkyss 09-11-2005, 05:11 PM Just got back from the East Coast Camero Club car show. Region members showed up in force and took the "Best Club" award. We had many members and we overflowed the assigned area for El Camino's. THANK YOU TO ALL REGION 2 MEMBERS WHO ATTENDED. YOU ALL MADE THE SHOW GREAT! 8) 8) THIS TROPHY IS FOR ALL OF YOU. More details soon. I need food.

MJwrabbit 09-12-2005, 07:21 AM WOOOOHOOOO!!! Congrats NECOA!!!! 8)
a73elkyss 02-26-2006, 07:47 PM O.K. region 2 NECOA members, I just received some excellent news. The East Coast Camaro Club is showing their appreciation and generosity by having not ONE El Camino class again this year but adding a second El Camino class! (thanks Michelle aka: MJwrabbit for all your hard work!) :)
Now, I KNOW we will be attending in force again this year to "defend" our "Best Club" award.
What are some opinions on how we would suggest the two classes are broken up? By year (ie: 78 and up & Pre-1978) or stock and personalized/modified?
For what it is worth, my opinion would be by year, as it can be somewhat subjective on exactly what a totaly stock vehicle is. Just look at the Super Chevy Shows rules and you can see how strict a "stock" class can be. Just my 2 cents worth.
Please post your opinions!
mgs72elky 02-26-2006, 08:18 PM Hey Jay, I think I've got a really good suggestion on the two classes. In one class we could put my Elky, and in the other class we put all other Elkys. That way, I'm sure to pic up my 1st trophy. Whatta ya think???????
87ElCamino 02-27-2006, 06:14 AM I think the majority of El Caminos at the show were 5th gens. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember there were only about 3-4 pre-78 Elkys there. We know there will be plenty of 5th gens at the next show, so in order to motivate more pre-78 El Camino owners to show up I'd recommend having a 78-87 class, and a 59-77 class.
My $.02

 I like your thinking!! :)
LeoC2 02-27-2006, 02:01 PM I might actually make it to this show! Most car shows I've been in, and that is a lot, usually break down by year and by stock/modified. They usually define modified as three major changes or more.
Also, they judge each car on it's own merits, not against others especially since modifieds are so subject to individual taste. If this is a detailing show then breaking up into stock and modified classes should not be a problem and everyone is treated the same.
By the way, when is the show? I don't see a date anywhere.

That would be great Leo. Although it would be quite the haul for you guys. :) It would be nice to meet you.
If I'm not mistaken, this was a people judged show. And there were a lot of people there. It is also a rain or shine show.
caspiantiger 02-27-2006, 03:01 PM I voted for the stock custom, but only if it isnt so strict that i cant get into stock with my non stock radio (that really made me mad at the super chevy show.) i just know i cant compete with customs with my car right now. Im gana plan on having my car fixed up a lot more than it is now for this show. If i dont remeber right, wasnt this one one of the last shows of the year? I think we should definetly push this show all year, we need to get as many elcaminos there as we can. Last year we had what, 8 or 9 members i think? we can do better than that this year! I still need to get a flyer out to a local elky, and this is one of the cleanest 5th gens ive ever seen. Its a nice purple one.I know where the person lives, ill have to stop by and try to get them to join necoa. well ill talk to ya later

p.s Ill try to find somewhere to meet up again for this show if anyones interested, i know its kinda early to be deciding but let me know if your interested and ill find somewhere.

I think that Burger King that you picked last year worked out perfect David! Easy on / off highway and not to far from the show. But yes, it is a little early, but a lot of people are getting that good spring fever. 8)
caspiantiger 02-27-2006, 03:26 PM Ya ill have to re mapquest it and post the address again, but ya its what 7 months away lol. sadly, my camino is down for a little while, till i gat some cash to buy the new radiator and starter. but its too cold to put it in now anyway. I hope to get it done before the first show of the season. Jay, any idea when and where the first show is?
Pro Street Garry 02-27-2006, 07:11 PM I have to agree with Jay...should be done by years! From past shows I've been to there is much...What is STOCK??? Jay's car is pretty much shock other then rims...But some guy with a totaly sock car may say "HEY HE'S GOT AFTER MARKET RIMS>>***"
Just my way of looking at it

mgs72elky 02-27-2006, 07:41 PM Hey Jay, Just love your poll, but for some reason no one else sees it the way I did. I roared when I saw that. I don't think I should take part in this poll guys, because I"m not sure how much of a hike this is. The way things are now with my back, I can usually drive 60 to 70 miles tops, if I stop every 20 minutes. And of course I never know what kind of shape I'll be in till that morning. But I'll say that I intend to make every show humanly possible. I am looking so foward to all of this.
Jay, Option # 1 sounds good. I really hope to make a show this year!

el Bandido 03-06-2006, 04:25 AM Hey Jay,
The news about TWO sections for el Caminos is great - I guess we are really coming up in the world.
I know what year my Bandido is - but I am not sure if it would qualify for custom ??? so I will go with Option One. Probably be more balanced numbers and less grumbling
I am glad they did not ask us to divide into cars & trucks - THAT would be interesting.
Looking forward to meeting EVERYONE up in Nashua
Tom
