after full interior resto. from bench seat column shift to buckets with console, carpet, dash cap etc. on my 78, i came to realize that my old seatbelts were faded badly. rather than go to all the trouble to remove everything and replace, i figured id try to die or paint them. what i came up with is this, i used a orange color big sharpie marker and tried out for color match by pulling belt all the way out where youd never see if color match didnt work, the results were great, so i ran sharpie up and down both belts, both sides and now have good color on otherwise faded out seatbelts.

Nice trick!

My black belts have faded to blue in spots. I think I'll get a big, fat, smelly marker, and try it myself!

Black paste shoe polish does a great job on restoring faded black belts. Brush it in and buff it off. Be sure to buff it off thoroughly so it won't come off on clothing.
