I have been real impressed with the carbon metallic pads from Autozone.

Here's a little tidbit on ceramic brake lining. I put Raybestos brand on the front of my wife's car (disc). Her car has white rims 8O and brake dust is a large problem. They claim the ceramics are less dusting. While there is some truth to that, they still dust quite a bit. Also, after the car sits for awhile (2 days or more) the first time you step on the brakes the fronts grab real hard and kinda sound like they're "grinding". After that they work fine. As for braking performance, they work fine but I have never used them in extreme situations such as multiple stops from high speeds.
