: If I was allowed to sell these
txbusa 09-22-2005, 04:57 PM Would there be any interest in buying an NECOA patch?

Bowtie 09-24-2005, 11:46 AM Enlighten me please. How would this work? NECOA approves and gets a cut of the profits. Right? If so, have the powers that be responded?
Take care.
txbusa 09-24-2005, 11:49 AM Steve is helping me out.
We'll see what he says.
I'll keep you posted.
Just trying to make stuff available for the group.

John Harris is our National Director. His computer is not being to "user friendly" to him lately which prevents him from getting on this forum as much as he would like. As a matter of fact, I just picked up his computer from him yesterday to do some work on it. I'll try and turn it around as soon as possible. I'll also let him know his opinion is being requested on this topic.
Bowtie 09-25-2005, 10:10 AM Sorry for neglecting to give my opinion on previous post.
I like the patch. In fact, if you get the green light to do the patch, why not also get approval to embroider other items too, like shirts, etc. From what I understand, once you have the design loaded into the computer, you can make a shirt as easy as a patch. It should be easy enough to work out the details.
For myself, I'd take a couple of patches, plus a mechanics, or jean style shirt with the logo and my name on it. Assuming, of course, that John doesn't try to fund his Camino Upgrade Fund on these sales! Just funnin wit ya John.
For what its worth.
Take care.
txbusa 09-25-2005, 10:46 AM I do a lot of the Dickies Shop Shirts and club jackets.
Believe me, I don't get rich doing this.
I am a contributor to the site and will discuss reasonable further contributions to the site.

sorry for the double posting. having some ciber difficulties here.
a73elkyss 09-27-2005, 12:47 PM I will try and contact John Harris this evening after work and see if he can get online with someone else's computer to respond to this post.
Sorry for the delay.
acauth1 09-27-2005, 03:46 PM I, for one, do not have an issue with people selling logo items on the site. In the past John has asked a small donation per sale be contributed to keep the site up and running (the amount of the donation is up to you.)
Of course, since this is an NECOA logo item, I would suggest waiting until we hear from him directly. Regardless, if he approves it would be fine to post in the vendors forum and maybe even put up a banner type ad. There are a few other vendors selling similar items, so I cannot see that it will be a problem for you as well.
John Harris 09-28-2005, 07:15 PM Thanks for your favorable input, Robert. I personally think the items being offered appear to be high quality and an accurate replica of the NECOA logo. My only concern so far was based on whether having separate vendors using ECC to advertize without specific approval of the owner of the website would pose a conflict with the arrangement you have set up with Cafe Press, where so many ECC/NECOA items are being offered. If you have no problem with use of ECC to promote these items, all that is remaining is to grant permission to use our NECOA name and logo. I will send an email poll to all our Board of Directors asking them to agree with this recommendation that TXBUSA be authorized to proceed, as long as each new item is previewed by an Executive Committee. This would only be to ensure high quality merchandise and consistent use of our logo with no alterations. We do want to keep the graphics totally consistent as a form of "brand identification." I will email the Directors tomorrow and ask their concurrence. In the meantime, I see no reason to change what appears to be a great idea, well-executed by someone who seems to know what our members want and appreciated.
I'll post again as soon as the Board concurs. So, get out your checkbooks and order some of those beautiful jackets!
acauth1 09-28-2005, 08:15 PM Thank you John. I see no problem with different types of items being offered for sale as long none are "identical" with what is being offered for sale on cafe press to offset server costs or even those items being sold by other vendors. It would be a conflict of interest for more than one vendor to offer the same shirt/logo combo that another already offers. These embroidered jackets and patches do not seem to be the same as anything I have seen another vendor offer and neither of this quaility are offered through cafepress. I like them and think we should both be offered a box of each just to grease the wheels so to speak. :P
elka79 10-04-2005, 03:22 PM well, i have check book in hand. whats the "last word" from the powers to be.
John Harris 10-04-2005, 06:53 PM Until you hear differently, shop until you drop! Buy what you like.
elka79 10-05-2005, 07:33 AM ok, the powers to be have spoken.....
now, how much for the patches?
Hi guys.
I really dropped the ball on this one. This all started when I asked TXBUSA if he could put the logo on a garment of mine. This sent us on the path to where we are today.
My intention was to have TXBUSA make some samples, then run it by the board for approval. It looks like it worked itself out, in that John Harris and Robert More have both already given TXBUSA the go ahead.
So let me just say, I would recomend any embroidered product being supplied by TXBUSA!
tplyons 11-01-2005, 12:31 PM Would be interested in a Dickie's Shop Shirt and a Dickie's mechanic jacket if you can do them. I love these jackets but they'd be much nicer if embroidered.
