I've got another problem. Can anyone tell me why I'm getting a nasty jolt when I get anywhere near my distributor? I'm getting tired of getting shocked! Probably no ground somewhere. Where should I begin looking? Thanks again everybody.

It's got to be a high voltage "leak" in the coil, cap, or plug wires.

Repace them 1 at a time until the problem goes away, or all at once depending on your budget.

A multimeter with a high voltage probe (we're dealing with 35K to 60K volts here) would help narrow down the culprit, but if you don't own one already buying it might be more expensive than just replacing the parts.

Spraying a fine mist of water (plastic spray bottle set on fogger setting) into the general area at night when it's very dark might also ID the culprit.

Good luck.
