Hi, new here, this is my first post. I am getting a 67 next week, and I will be fitting a small block with a miniblower I have, a Weiand 177. Does anyone know how high above the stock hood the carb horn will sit? I cant find any El Caminos with miniblowers anywhere to compare to. I am trying to decide whether to cut a hole in the hood to fit a Hilborn style scoop or go with a cowl hood. I almost feel like the Hilborn scoop would look better on that model. Here is the scoop I am considering:

Mr Gasket scoop at Summit (http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=partdetail.asp&autofilter=1&part=MRG%2D5232&N=4294925239+4294839057+4294887855&autoview=sku)

Thanks for any ideas.

I'm partial to cowl hoods, but either way, I'd say the carb will be up about 2-3" higher depending on what intake the car used to have.

I finally got the blower on the engine. The carb sticks about 3.5" ABOVE the hood and with the low profile Moroso 14" air cleaner, I am about 5" ABOVE the hood!! Wow, that 177 is taller than I thought, and there is less clearance under the hood of a 67 EC that I thought. I had the blower on a C3 Corvette and thought the EC would have tons more room, I was wrong!
