Another ECC member (I apologize for forgetting who) recommended 303 Vinyl Protectant for vinyl, fiberglass, etc. I sent away for a free sample. This stuff made my vinyl top look BRAND NEW. And was not greasy at all. I went out right away and purchased a bottle.
This stuff is far superior to any vinyl product out there. Throw away the rest, you will love this product.
Check it out at 303 Products, Inc. (http://www.303products.com)

a82elky,
I can also stand by the 303 product. I have been using this product for well over 10 years! This is NOT a new product but has been used for years by professional detailers or people in the know. As a former professional detailer there are quite a few products that we use in our circle that was just not offered over the counter. 303 is the best product I know of for protection against UV Sun rays hands down. For sure I rate this product a "10" and it is worth the extra money spent on it! I think its a little pricy to put on your tires but worth the extra $ for sure on your interior or vinyl tops.
Finally a few of these great products can now be found over the counters. Another example is the "Clay Bars" Another product we have been using for many years!
Thanks a82elky for the post on this product and sharing your find...all who try it will not be disapointed!

I'm pretty sure "70ELCO" will be better able to answer exactly what the clay bar will do and WON'T do.
I use a show car polish called Zaino Bros. Here is a link to their site which explains what Clay Bar does. Zaino Clay Bar FAQ (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SGCWC&Store_Code=Z)
All I know is, if used properly, the clay bar removes a lot of the crap that normal washing and scrubbing just won't. It makes the vehicle perfect for the application of polish. Doesn't really take much effort or time either.

when using the 303 does it also act as a cleaner or just a protectant. if prep is needed, then what's the best?

Evening Andrew. The 303 is a protectant that really will impress you. I only use it on "clean" vinyl. "70ELCO" recommended in another post a vinyl cleaner by Simonize. I hope he comes on this post, because he will be able to explain what product it is better than I can. I still can't find it around here.
Regardless, after the vinyl is clean, the 303 makes my vinyl roof look brand new.

As good as a product 303 is unless the area your working on is real clean, I always use a cleaner first. There is a lot of different cleaners out there but I will just say the "Tuff Stuff" foam spray (Red and yellow can) works great and is easy to find. The 2 steps will be worth the extra time.

Thanks Dave. I must have had a brain freeze from that post you did about "Tuff Stuff". I have seen that product in stores, but thought I was looking for something else. I'll get some of that for a cleaner.
Thanks.
