Hi, do any of you from new england know of any good junkyards that would possibly have g body cars in them. I dont know of any in my area and i wanted to know if any of you knew of any in the RI-MA-CT area.

Hey Peter. Try giving Ernie an email at ernie@malibunirvana.com. He lives in Rhody and I'll bet he knows the answer to your question. Ernie is on these boards a lot under the ID of "87elcamino".

There used to be lots of G-bodys in the RI junkyards. But, most of them have been crushed. I used to see 60-70 of them at Perry Motors in Ashaway until about a year ago. The last time I was there looking for something they told me they crushed all of them. There were two junkyards on Mill Rd. in Foster that had lots of them too. But, they have pretty much all been crushed too. I see a G-body Monte or a Cutlass now and then but I haven't seen a Malibu or El Camino in a local junkyard for several years.

What is it that you need? I probably have it as I've got about 6-7 G-bodies out back.

well listed from most important to least important, i need an entire right door, mine was dented and after i realized the dent caused the outer and inner shells to separate, partially due to previous rot, but im sure the door is no good.

One of my original rally rims cracked on an almost foot deep pot hole that i ran over at night so im riding on 2 different sets, if you had at least 2 of the 5th gen el camino rally rims that would be cool

i am also trying to get as much replacement chrome for my car as i can find at a reasonable price, i need the bed rails, the door sides, the chrome that lines the top of the bed, the chrome that goes around the window area, and the bumpers. Its not that i dont have the parts but mine are fading with age.

I could use a posi trac rear end off of a monte SS, and as much of a black interior as possble (carpet, seats, dash, steering wheel). A dual exhaust crossmember would be nice.

I obviosly dont expect all of this but i just want to see whats available, and i foy udo have any of these parts available, or if anyone else does, i would be happy to buy them off of you

Hey there, I may have some of what you are looking for.

I have 2 rally wheels in good shape mechanically (othe r2 have scuffs on the rim and the rim rings. These were on my 5th when I got them but am not sure if that means they are 5th gen rallies... I'll try and take some pictures in the next couple days. If you want them you can have them, but I think shipping may be expensive, they have tires on them, not sure which rims have my good tires, 2 have lots of tread, 1 is marginal, 1 is thread bare. All the rims you would want to sandblast and whatever before painting them. Previous owner did a home "silver spray paint" job on them that is flaking off, and I think one you can actually see some "blue" coming through. I do have the 4 center cap covers for these in good shape, these are the ones that say chevrolet, a little pollishing of these and they will be perfect.

I have the chrome that lines the bed sides. I got some better chrome, and you are welcome to my older ones, but i haven't pulled them off yet and it may be a couple weeks before I do. The ones on there now, are still pretty shiney, but have a few dings in them.

I have a few interior pieces you are welcome to. They look to have been maroon originally, but are painted black, the 2 pieces I have are the ones that run from the back glass to the front of the doors, i think they are called B-pillars, but am not sure. They are in ok shape, right where they come together with the A-pillars, the plastic is soft and has some minor cracks..

I also have a brand new never used (other than snapping it in place once, carpet curtain for the storage box. I have decided to make a custome face for the rear box and won't be needing it after all. I'll have to look up what I paid for it, but i don't think it was more than about $30 for it.

I also will have in a couple weeks the lower door panels available, still maroon, carpet on them is in good shape, the plastic infront of the door handle has a couple scuff marks but otherwise is ok. The drivers side is the one with remote mirror hole. Neither have any holes for powerlocks/windows. I'm cutting some diamond plate to use for the bottom half this week, once I'm sure it fits and will work you can have those. I can even repaint them if you like (as well as the other parts) as I am going to be painting some of my other interior stuff this week. although you may find that my version of black is not the black you want though, when I got the elky he had painted the upper components black, but a flat black, I prefer a glossy black, which will go better with the black dash cap I already put on.

You can also have the armrests, I have 2 maroon, and 1 black (actual black) ones, but I don't rember which side this was for.

I also have the pull straps for the doors if you want those, I have the end pieces to mount them, but they are plastic, not sure if they shipped that way or if these were cheap knock offs, but I don't have the covers that hide the screws. I also have an ashtray unit in black as well.

Let me know if you want some pictures or if any of this seems worth looking into further for you. None of the pieces are show quality, but will work especially if you don't have any now.

let me know.

I've got one.

...if you had at least 2 of the 5th gen el camino rally rims that would be cool...
I have several complete sets along with center caps and trim rings.

... i need the bed rails, the door sides, the chrome that lines the top of the bed, the chrome that goes around the window area, and the bumpers.
I've got all of that too.

...I could use a posi trac rear end off of a monte SS, and as much of a black interior as possble (carpet, seats, dash, steering wheel). A dual exhaust crossmember would be nice.
I don't have a spare MCSS rear. I've got a perfect black 79 Malibu dash minus the wiring harness, a complete black 79 Malibu steering column and wheel. and some assorted black interior plastic trim. I've got several sets of bucket seats and a few bench seats. I have a crossmember for a TH350 that is modified for dual exhaust.

I obviosly dont expect all of this but i just want to see whats available, and i foy udo have any of these parts available, or if anyone else does, i would be happy to buy them off of you
I e-mailed you my phone number. Give me a call and I'll give you directions. Oh...bring cash.
