: Cruise Night

Has there been anymore thought to having a get together for Elky owners in the East Bay or Bay Area? I heard that on Friday nights old car owners get together at the Mexican Restaurant on Willow Pass Road in Sun Valley.
It would be fun to meet with some of the other owners of El Caminos, I'm sure there are lots of war stories.
It seems that in Region 18 we don't seem to have much activity.
What does everyone think? Wayne? How's the Vixen running? I still haven't found a name for mine.

hey bonnie,

Check the region 18 threads, we have a cruise night this friday (the 28th @ 7pm in livermore at Johns Char Burgers.

It will be good to see your elky again and hopefully I'll have my seats (well your old ones :) ) and rest of my interior in place.

Hope you can make it.

Vixen is occasionally fickle with me but she is running well, finally passed smog, cleared up my idle error 44 (o2 sensor) this weekend. Also put new belts on her, and dressed her other valve cover with chrome.

Some times I feel like i'm married to my car, here would be our conversation this weekend.

wayne: Hey honey, I'm going to check your measurments and fit your seats for you this weekend, I might even get your door panels and center console in, remember you want to look next friday right?

vixen: Actually honey, I was thinking you should change my belts, swap out my other valve cover and gasket, degrease my motor some more, clean up the engine compartment, verify my vacuum lines.

Wayne : Yes dear, If there is time, can I do some of my projects?

Vixen: Of course, but I may have some other chores for you firs,.... if you have time.

I had SO many other things I wanted to get done to her this weekend, but between life, not being able to work on her past 9pm due to neighbors, and sleep, I did everything she wanted to do, but nothing I wanted done :)

Wayne, How the heck do I find that info? I must not be looking in the right place. How many people are going to show up? At the price of gas and the carb. that I have, I'd like to go if there is going to be a good turnout. Hope to see the seats and new work you've done. Bonnie

It in the same thread as this one, just one more down, here is a link to it.

it started as a post a year or so ago, but if you go about halfway down the 1st of 5 pages, you'll see where we revived the effort.

The jist is :

Johns char Burgers on Old 1st street in livermore @ 7pm on Friday Oct 28th.

According to others there are usually 8-10 custom hot rods there on Friday night, so we decided to join them with our elkies.

There are no prizes, no pressure, just a chance for us to bring our elkies no matter what their current state, up to meet and share experiences with others.

We have about a half dozen folks from this list, about a half dozen folks from the team chevelle website, as well as a few locals that I dropped flyers on their car have called me to confirm they are gonna go.

From my end of the bay, we are going to meet at the 680/880 interchange (mission blvd, fremont) between 6 and 6:30 and cruise up together from there.

Call me at 650-279-4122 if you have any other questions bonnie.

great, the more the merrier.

I'm so glad this is coming off, I got 2 calls this weekend from guys I had left fliers on there cars, so we may even see some new recruits on here as well.

lookinf forward to meeting everyone.

Bring pictures, parts, stories, lets make a night of it folks. :) Personally, I think I'll be bringing my 3 ton jack and some jack stands and all my tools incase any of our elkies get temerpmental or jealous from how well some of the others that i'm sure will be there make ours insecure.
