I might be interested also. What are the dates? I don't think it would be toooooo bad a drive from SC. . . . 8O

ElDawgg
01-25-2006, 02:35 PM
Its a good show, a little bit of everything there. This will be our first "show/display" there so I would be happy with just a few el caminos. We will park together in our own area. I will check with our reg. director to find out specifics. If anyone would like to help that would be greatly apprecieated. I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to computers  March 25th I believe. We will post a link w/ reg. and more info. SC? Not a bad drive. There will be lots of show cars to look at. I believe it was Tom (from GA.) who also asked about the show...maybe you can cruise in together?

01-25-2006, 02:53 PM
I know I will have the engine and trans done by then, and hopefully the paint also. Might not have the interior finished - but certainly will try.

As soon as you get some specifics, let me know.

Thanks,

Scott

PunkRican, long time no hear, er type. Welcome back. 84Elky welcome to the thread. Sure sounds like you have been putting in some serious hours on your Elky. I can't wait to check it out. Good to hear that you guys are interested and have been looking forward to the Spring show. I think it will be lot's of fun. I am looking forward to it.

El Dawgg, bbailey_33. myself, and a few others are interested in showing in Daytona. I have not heard from the Hot Rod Professor lately but I will send him an email. In the interim guys here is what we have so far.

Cut and paste this link on your web page or highlight the entire link, right click then hit "search the web for....."

The link will open up stating that the show is March 24, 25, & 26. The a printable registration form can be found on the left of the page. Click on the link, print the registration and get ready to send it out.

Be advised that pre-reg is $25.00 before February 1st. It will be $30.00 after that. Maybe we can print our registration forms and send them to one focal or whatever will work for those interested. Ideas and volunteers are welcome.

I'm curious if half-done daily drivers will be welcome inside...
Haven't been to many of these, so I'm just asking.

ElDawgg
01-26-2006, 07:18 AM
Half-Done drivers are welcome. I have brought a few cars to this show that were in no way near finished. There is no judging, just come hang out w/other elky owners and have a good time (thats the plan anyways)

PunkRican
01-26-2006, 08:52 PM
that's right, this is a restriction free show, doesn't have to be beaty queen level to be in and there's no age restriction(any gen. allowed). And i'm wondering, which days are you guys plannin on showin? cause i know i wont be able to do the thursday, the friday's an iffy but the saturday i def. will be there. and the proffesor told me somethin about doint he whole show within a show where we had liek a circle of cars and stuff? we still goin for that? cause i think it's a great idea dependin on numbers. and im also wondering if there's anything special we have to put in the registration in order to be able to park together...

82 Elco
01-27-2006, 03:48 AM
Yes, I believe the show within a show circle of cars idea was an excellent one. As I understood it that was the plan.

There is an 96 impala era club that does that. Last year they had a decent turnout. They looked good together. It would be cool if we can get some type of showing going.

I am working that Thursday but I guess I am open for whatever day everyone would prefer. Some of us were discussing the possibility of heading up there together. Is that a viable option still?

bbailey_33 you are more than welcome come on come all.

bbailey_33
01-27-2006, 05:18 AM
Friday is the first day.... I can take that day off if need be so we can cruise together... are you guys planning on spending the night and staying all 3 days?

ElDawgg
01-27-2006, 07:44 AM
I think that Sat. is the day to go....this show is good, but nothing like the rod run at the same location. We should do a one day "circle of cars" on Sat. If anyone chooses to do Fri. or Sun. they could meet in the same place but I think we should really concentrate on having a great Sat. show.

bbailey_33
01-27-2006, 07:57 AM
Saturday only makes things alot easier... I'm defiantely in, baring emergencies. Now: when/where will we meet that morning?
Come on Orlando area Elky owners (I've seen alot drivin around) jump on board, let's make a real showing of force here.

Hackthis59
01-27-2006, 11:10 AM
Im in if i get my el camino, dad still wount let me bring the 59 down here, but if i get my 87 we will take the cruise

PunkRican
01-27-2006, 10:52 PM
I def. down for saturday, I don't know where you guys are drivin from but I'm in clermont, just west of Orlando, if it can be arranged to drive together from somewhere clse then im up for it. otherwise we could meet somewhere close befor ehte show and just cruise in together

82 Elco
01-28-2006, 04:47 AM
Saturday works for me. I live in Port St. John near Kennedy Space Center and 95 fwy. I have no problem driving into Orlando or wherever so that we can all go together. Let's just figure out the time and all.

I'm with it. Let's do it.

bbailey_33
01-28-2006, 06:06 AM
I think it might actually make more sense to meet up somewhere close over there, we seem pretty spread out, but I'm open to more input and hopefully alot more takers.

82Elco: I live at the Wedge (520 & 50) so us cruisin together makes sense, maybe some more East siders will join up. I think Eldawg is close as well, plus I know an old guy here with a nice Elky, I should go by and invite him, I don't think he gets out much, he'd probably enjoy it.

82 Elco
01-28-2006, 06:16 PM
bbailey_33,

I agree that we all might be a little spread out. El Dawgg lives on the East side. My Elco is due for a good little run so I really have no problem going out towards you guys or meeting somewhere around here.

This month will be over in a few days, I think that we will need to start shifting some gears to get this thing going. Besides the meeting location we need to figure out what time we should meet, how long does everyone plan to stay, and get some sort of preliminary count of how many and what generation Elcos will be represented.

How many of you guys have downloaded, printed, and filled out the registration forms?

bbailey_33
01-29-2006, 11:04 AM
I have... haven't mailed it yet, $5 more after Tuesday, not a big deal :)
All of us on the Eastside can meet at Speedworld, then pick up 82Elco at 50 and 95 (T-ville), then shoot North. I'm planning on Saturday only I guess.

PunkRican
01-29-2006, 05:35 PM
I live on the junction of 50 and 27, lemme know where to go and i'll go there.

ElDawgg
01-29-2006, 07:46 PM
I'm keeping an eye here, I think that my 86 should be gone by then :-( It does need to go .....too many projects not enough cash! Hopefully I'll be in the 60 (although incomplete)But I'll be there!!! Peter, any input??

82 Elco
01-29-2006, 09:07 PM
What's up people? Happy Sunday.

I keep checking the site myself. I am glad to see that there are some members interested in making this happen.

El Dawgg, I guess we have some mixed emotions. Your 86 is real clean, I will hate to see it go but it will give you some extra cash to work on the other projects. Congrats and good luck.

I'll be there as well. Peter, where are you?

01-30-2006, 07:05 AM
where amI?...where am I? I'm on turn 4 at the rolex 24hr where else would I be ? here's the scoop on the sring show we will have our own space inside on the grass where the drivers park their rv's we are planning on parking in a circle with 2of each genaeration making up the circle ...yes their is room for more we need twenty el caminos pre registered for this to happen, each day we will feature an elcamino in the center there will be signs for the generations (nice ones) as well as signs directing the cars and crowd to the ''El camino ring" since parking together costs more plus the signs and our own show decal the cost will

be .....$30.00.... send the money to me ,.......

01-30-2006, 03:23 PM
I feel extra thick today... (not unusual)
Do we register with Daytona via the printed form with $30 or just send the form and $30 to Peter? I'm ready to mail also.

p.s. Question on form "Car Make or Club you wish to display with?" should be answered with ????????

ElDawgg
01-30-2006, 06:22 PM
Ha! I would say send the form to the daytona address provided in 82'S link. not to Peter,I am going to specify "club parking with NECOA el camino central" wish me luck my 60 needs a TON of stuff done in a very short time!

PunkRican
01-30-2006, 06:24 PM
so do we have to pay the preregistration AND the 30 to you? or just the 30 to you?

ElDawgg
01-30-2006, 06:36 PM
hey Punk, I am sending Peter 30 to take care of all of our "show signs/stickers" So that will be taken care of for all of us. You will need to go back to 82's daytona link (I think its on the 2nd page of this link) and on there is a form for pre-registering. Send your form and money to them, and specify necoa parking! .........you can send me thirty bucks too if you want to!!   Just Kidding!

ElDawgg
01-30-2006, 06:52 PM
Ya know what, maybe I'm the one thats "thick" I am going to wait for Peter to specify if we send the forms& cash to him. Just a little excited we might have a good turn out with nice weather and no hurricanes........and I probably wont be ready  I am really going to try!

82 Elco
01-30-2006, 08:14 PM
Nonsense! El Dawgg, you have to be ready. Do whatever you can and the best you can then come out and hang with us.

Peter.... I and several on this thread are ready to send money to the Daytona Spring show as identified on the flyer. Is that acceptable or should we just send the money and the forms directly to you at the address that you listed?

Also looking for clarification on how many cars are required and how many days. It sounds as though not everyone will be available on both days. And... what happens if we don't get the 20 cars required?

r-59
02-01-2006, 06:27 AM
ok, lets clarify ...1. send form and money (30.00) to me we are handeling every thing witin our region...2 we have a spcecial place to park and a seperate decal. 3 any year and shape el camino can attend,...3 we need a total of 20 el camino's, they don't have to be there on the same day although it would be nice 4, hopefully, we can get one or more from each generation 5Iwill send you your decal and info. 6 I would like to set the cut off date as march 3rd a friday.so we have the month of feb......lets go ! surrounding states are welcome ..its a big show

ElDawgg
02-01-2006, 06:58 AM
Thanks Peter, I know that you spend your cash for our show stickers/signs and wanted to help with the cost. Thanks for making it clear! I will send you my pre-reg. form this week.

So what day/s is everyone planning to be there? Sat, Sun? Sun only?
I would like to make it for Sat and Sun, but if I only make it one day I want to be there when most of us will be there.

Anyone going to Super Chevy?

I too would like to be surrounded by Elky's, what is the consensus on the 90% attendance day. I can do Saturday or Sunday. I would imagine Saturday will be the biggest overall.

82 Elco
02-01-2006, 08:35 PM
Hi Peter,

I am a little behind schedule but I will send my form and money to the address you provided this week as well. I will notify you when the I drop the form in the mail so that you will know when to expect it.

With regards to the when to show. I can do Saturday and / or Sunday. I agree that Saturday will probably be the best day of the two. I'm in.

Like Peter said It is a big show I doubt that anyone will be disappointed.

02-02-2006, 06:44 PM
Okay Peter,

I live in south Miami and have a 69. I put in for the day off. However I will not know if I got it until 3 weeks before that Saturday. If I'm off I will attend Saturday. As soon as I know I will send in my money and registration.
I plan to leave Miami friday afternoon or very early Saturday and return on Sunday. Will anyone else be driving up at that time. It would be nice to travel with someone.

Some of us are thinking of meeting at 95 and 50 (Titusville) sometime early Sat morning, keep checking here and good luck with your boss, but I would send your money now so we can get the group rate, if we don't hit 20 cars, I think we're out. Maybe you will be "sick" anyway

Hey Harleybd

Welcome! We will be glad to have you join us. We hope you get the day off as well. I guess riding up together will depend on what time you think you will be in the Central Florida area. We'll keep checking.

Right now it appears to me that the general consensus is that we show on Saturday. Like I mentioned before I am flexible enough to be there on Saturday or Saturday and Sunday.

We shall have to see what develops. Keep checking the site and this thread. Thanks.
