Jesse and the gang rip, grind, and burn as they transform an El Camino Super Sport into an indestructible Figure 8 race car.

WOW. I just spent I don't know how long reading all those threads. The comment that PO me off most was this one:
And, an "El Camino" is hardly some collectable car, I see tons of them in junkyards and no one seems to care about that.

However someone countered with this comment:
Well the car has a 27,000 dollar book value, not bad for a 1971 car that no one cars about.

The way I see it on this whole issue is,yeah they are cutting up decent older cars, and yes it makes me cringe, however with every old car destroyed,it makes the ones you have just a bit more valuable and a bit more special. Don't you think?

I refuse to watch someone intentionally destroy any Elky, I would probably get violently ill. Anyone who would do such a thing is a good reason for keeping Capital Punishment laws on the books.  8O  :?  etc etc etc. However it would be okay with me if they do it to one of dem dar Ford Rauncheros...I would consider that a mercy killing.

They already did a Ranchero... they transformed into a bull-riding-machine. It was one of the few episodes where the team failed the challenge..

It was pretty funny to see the axels snap off from all the jumping around it did.

Saw the comercial for this episode a couple times last night on the discovery channel. Everytime it came on i got this sick feeling in my stomach when it showed the tearing up this perfectly good elky, SS big block too. what a waste.

I, for one, am glad that I missed that show. I had a friend get ahold of me and say "you didn't watch Monster Garrage tonight did you?" When I told him "no", he told me what happend. If they're going to do something like that, why not take a non-numbers matching small block that's been in a junk yard for a while and tear it to shreds? I don't see why they had to use such a pristine example.

BTW: What year was the Elkie? My buddies told me it was a tripple black '69, but I think I read on here that it was a '71?
