I have an 87 caberello V6 that came from the factory with just the speedometer and warning lights. I also have an 86 conquista V8 that has the speedo, tach and gauge package. I was wondering if it was possible to take the tach gauge instrument panel out of the conquista and put it in my caberello and everthing work. Thanks a bunch for any help.

You would also need the senders for the water temp and oil pressure gages. The water temp sender is different from the one that feeds your computer. And I can't recall whether the tach has a switch to reset from 8cyl to 6cyl. It definitely won't work if it's set for the V8.

There isn't any switch on the tachometer to go from V6 to V8. There are two different tachometers. One for V6 and another for V8.

Thanks for all the help so far guys. Thats a bummer about the tach but I can understand why that wouldn't work. Do they even make tachs for V6's and if they do, what else would I have to do to make the tach work? I guess I could find one and swap out the two tachs and use the rest of the gauges.

Here is what to look for. The 86-87 V6 tachometer redlines at 4500 RPM while the 86-87 V8 tachometer redlines at 5000 RPM.
