Alright im wanting to build the rarest camino, a camino with a duped 267. I already have a good carb on it so next i need heads, headers, cam and good intake. What im wondering is which of those i should get for best performance and power. I know its a 267 but i want it to be the most powerful 267 out there. I am asking for a cam that can give a good choking sound.

i had a 267 on mine, and that question was basically answered with a "unanimous" use it as a boat anchor. i needed an overhaul, so i did got the 350.but then i didnt know what i know now. and i paid $1,200 for the rebuilt oversize 0.30,68 vette cam.... for that i could have gotten a goodwrench 350 -210 hp....hindsight....................

My '79 was built in Doraville, GA with a 267 but was swapped out for a 350 by the previous owner.
I had mixed emotions about it at first but I think I'm over it now. Good luck on the rebuild. Post some pictures. Everybody like pictures.

There are no specific hotrod parts for the 267 V8, however most of the SB Chevy stuff wll work. I don't think you will find any information about performance 267s because no one ever wasted their time trying to hot rod that engine. So the real question to you is---why bother?

Hmmmm, 267 v-8.
Your best bet IF YOU INSIST on building this small engine is to build TORQUE.
Something like an Edelbrock Performer Intake and their #2102 Performer-Plus cam. I'd also call Crane Cams or Comp Cams and ask them for their cam recommendations....the Edelbrock cam might be too BIG!
Heads? You're getting way too far into this thing. Stop at cam and intake swap.
Drive the 267 since it works. In the meantime, buy a GM crate engine then do a transplant. Keep the 267 and make a coffee table out of it.
