My 72 El Camino it showing a few spots of rust below the crome trim about 1/2", thats 1/2nch below the trim in 6 or 8 places. Should I remove the trim and apply some sort of rest preventer and plan on a repaint soon.

Yes. If you care then repair.

You need to get rid of the rust and seal it and paint it. around the Windshield and back windows there is a tendancy, on those models, to rust out.

I recently ordered some POR-15 and man is it tough stuff. If you got rust you need to check out the website www.por15.com.

Man, this site is way cool. I need to take off the chrome strips around the back window. I did a real number on the front window when I reasealed the windshield, so I'd like to do better this time.
