Hey Guys, Being new and all, I'm just curious as to when and what is the first show/meet for region 2, for the 06' season? I know, I know, we are only in Dec. But my first season doing the show circuit, and hanging with you people, can't come soon enough,so bear with me. Thanks....

Hey Mark. Glad to see you're thinking about springtime. Last I looked out my window, there was 4 inches of the frigon white stuff out there.

I try to keep an eye and ear out for when car clubs start posting their car shows. Only a very small of them put out a date this early.

I also count on other members to help me out and let me know about car shows. A lot of times when you go to cruise nights, you can pick up flyers of future shows. I then use my email mailing list and this forum to post as many car shows as possible.

Our region covers all six New England states, I would like to attend at least one show in each state, but so far I have not been able to get to VT or ME.

I do know that there are a few real good shows that were held last year in your area and I'd like to attend them again in the '06 season, but to date, none have even penciled in a date.

Hey Ya, Jay. Appreciate the reply. I put that out there because I was curious if there was any particular early shows, you know, like such and such a club always has a show every April 1st, for the last 10 years. I can see now that none work that way, and have random schedules. Ok, thanks Jay. Yeah, I know I'm nuts. We got 3" on the ground, and the potential for 6" to 10" more on Tuesday. An one of your new members is asking about spring shows. Heh, Heh, I'm excited, I'm excited. Later Jay.....

I think the 1st show of the year ought to be at Jay's & Dian's at noon on the 1st Saturday in Feb for him to provide "Regional" steaks and beer.

Anyone opposed? :-D

Sounds like a good idea Mike, but we have plans on that day. How about Feb. 29th? Things should quite down by then..... :)

All kidding aside, I am constantly looking for any clubs to start posting their car show schedules. I have three or four good sources, plus if you guys here of any shows that you feel we should attend, shoot me off the info and I'll push it out.

Glad to see you were able to straighten out your avatar Mike. That site hack really did a number on a bunch of fine looking Elco's.

Hey Mike, I like how you think. I haven't met Jay or his wife yet, so what better way to get aqqainted than over a steak. Jay, I'm kinda fond of sirloin, well done, maybe some sauteed onions. My kinda regional dirctor. Later guys...

Jay,
That's okay. Our schedules are probably more flexible than yours. Besides, beggars shouldn't be choosers. To make things easiest on you should we change it to the last Sat in January instead? (Won't have to worry about 2 dozen+ cars ruining your grass in this kind of weather). Mark indicated a preference for Sirloin. Would you make mine a med-well NY Strip and a 6 of Sam Adams' Boston Lager?

:)

Jay, I prefer a nice Porterhouse steak medium to well done. But in a pinch I'll take a Filet Mignon.

I try to keep an eye and ear out for when car clubs start posting their car shows.
A good place to keep an eye on for local car shows is:

http://cruisinbruce.com/CarShowFlyers.html

Crusin Bruce Palmer plays oldies at many of the shows in the RI, CT, MA area. Lots of car clubs post their flyers on his site. He was the DJ at the last two RI All Chevy Show in Cumberland RI.

Yep Ernie. I agree and have had Bruce's website book marked for a bit. I do enjoy car shows that he DJ's at. Bruce and his website are a great source of car information.

Wow, looks like I might have bring in some of the cattle from the northern part of my "Big Elco" ranch for this BBQ on 2/29

Side note, I've already heard back from one member who is on the board of another car club for their show in '06. So, believe it or not, I already have a few to pass along. But more on that later.....

Welcome to ECC/NECOA TJ. Awesome show list you have there. I will definitely use that as a reference.
You and your club are located in MA., so that would be Region 2 of ECC. We cover all six New England states. I usually keep my eye out for new members who sign up in region 2. I think you signed up in region 3 though...

Anyway, if you would like I can add your email address (ncsr_70@yahoo.com) to my region 2 email list? I try and send out periodic emails to the members about car shows, cruise nights, etc.

We have many members who are also active members of local car clubs and that is great. Being a member of ECC/NECOA should in no way interfere with any local car club. Does your car club have any El Camino's in it? Does your car club sponsor a car show? Any pictures of member’s rides?

Again welcome!
